Music legend and EastEnders actor Goldie is coming to Swindon.

The world renowned DJ will be turning the tables in The Brunel Rooms on October 11.

Stephen Reid, managing director of the Brunel Rooms, said: "We have been asking Goldie to perform here for a while and are thrilled he has fitted us in to his hectic schedule."

Having just finished writing his autobiography and now engrossed in a film project, Goldie is clearly hot property.

Mr Reid added: "Goldie is a very busy man so we feel privileged to experience his musical talents live."

The drum and bass guru is a music maestro with many more strings to his bow. Before breaking into the music industry, he exhibited graffiti in New York and started a business selling engraved gold teeth in Miami.

Roles in Hollywood films and TV soaps also feature on his impressive CV. He played a bad guy in the James Bond movie The World is Not Enough and also starred in Guy Ritchie's film Snatch.

Closer to home, he has starred in EastEnders, as a gangster called Angel. Besides visiting Swindon, Goldie will also be returning to Albert Square in the near future.

He is currently looking at a script for a $45 million film called Underworld.

In a recent interview, he even mentioned the possibility of winning an Oscar.

But next month Swindon music fans will be treated purely to his drum and bass, jungle and techno skills.

Tickets, costing £8.50, are available in advance from Sumos in the Brunel Plaza.
