Princess Anne will officially open Wootton Bassett's new CCTV control room. She will unveil a plaque and meet volunteers who monitor the system as well as present two long serving volunteers with certificates.
The Princess Royal will arrive at the town council offices just after midday on Monday, September 30. Town clerk, Johnathan Bourne, and CCTV supervisor, Mike Tupman, will be greeting the Royal guest of honour.
The CCTV system has trebled in size and now has 18 monitors thanks to a £107,000 home office grant. Wootton Bassett's system is only one of a handful nationally that are manned purely by volunteers.
