TODDLERS at a Swindon playgroup have been robbed of their toys.

Thieves bashed in the door of a metal shed in the grounds of the Westbourne Pre-School, on Westcott Road.

They stole a number of toys including two large inflatable dinosaurs a woolly mammoth and a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Playgroup supervisor Nikki Turnbull said: Because we are a charity there is not all that much money around so this sort of thing is very frustrating.

"It must have taken a couple of kicks to get the door open so someone must have heard something.

"Today the children had to do without many of the toys they play with every day so they had to do things like painting and drawing instead of the usual games.

Another council-owned metal shed nearby was also broken on Monday night but nothing was stolen from it.

Anyone with information about either break-in can contact Swindon Police on 528111.
