A NEW scheme for the rebuilding of a historic building in Chippenham has failed to impress planners.
Developers want to convert the vandalised 19th century property at 9 London Road, but wrangles over the future of the grade II-listed building have again not been resolved.
The plans have come before North Wiltshire District Council's development control committee three times, but when the revised plans came before members for a fourth time on Wednesday, officers recommended the plans be thrown out.
Fidutec Fiduciaire wants to convert the building into offices, but planning officers are worried too much of the old building was being demolished.
Revised plans would keep the external walls in place but officers say the development would spoil the listed building.
