Gazette reporter Lily Canter is looking forward to her ladies' driving challenge in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on September 28.
The driving fundraisers are happening across the country and women will be given the chance to take to the wheel of fire engines, double decker buses, HGVs and many other vehicles.
Our reporter will take to the road at RAF Colerne to raise funds for nursing, education and research services.
"I know the day will be great fun and it is a super idea for a fundraiser," said Miss Canter.
Driving challenges are being held in seven different locations from Cornwall to North Wales in September and October.
But everyone can get involved in fundraising including men and children. The charity is encouraging people to hold 'make a meal' evenings, supported by top chef Kevin Woodford.
"Like many people, I've been touched by cancer and I know what a difference Marie Curie's nursing and hospice care can make to cancer patients and families," said Mr Woodford.
The meal evening asks people to invite friends round for dinner with everyone bringing cash donations.
The charity is supplying meal packs with recipes by Kevin Woodford. For more information call 0870 2401021.
