NEWCOMERS the Kings Arms maintained their winning start to the new season with a 2-0 victory at Fox and Hounds.

Booker Woodford scored twice and hit the crossbar for the visitors, who were a goal up at the break.

Three top class by Foxes goalkeeper Danny Leighfield kept the hosts in the game, but Woodford converted a chance six minutes from time to wrap up the points for his side.

Netheravon picked up their first points of the new season with a 2-1 home win over The Dolphin.

The hosts controlled the first half and broke the deadlock ten minutes before half time when a defence splitting pass from James Dix found Dave Spencer and he crossed for Nicky Halliday to volley home.

The Dolphin pushed forward after the interval, but Netheravon struck their second on the counter attack when Freddy Kenny broke away to score.

The visitors halved the deficit on 80 minutes when Julian Fielding scored his second goal in two games, and only some brave goalkeeping by Kevin Hatcher and resolute defending from Netheravon kept the Dolphin at bay in the closing stages.

The New Inn made an impressive start to the season with a 6-3 home win over much fancied Devizes Snooker Club.

Paul Probert put the new boys ahead on five minutes and Iain Walker made it two with a cross that somehow found the back of the net.

Craig Townsend nodded home Jonathon Schofield's free kick to bring the visitors back into the game, but Robert Guyton restored the New Inn's two-goal lead with a magnificent lob.

Steve Sartin reduced arrears again on the stroke of half time, but the Snooker Club found themselves three goals behind soon after the interval after a Guyton free kick and a Jordan Dickman strike.

Further goals from Townsend and Dickman rounded off the scoring.

Reigning champions Selectabook continued their fine early season form with a 12-0 thrashing of JB's Lions.

Marcus Wallen opened the scoring for the Bookmen on ten minutes and new signing Jamie Butler showed great composure to volley home from 12 yards moments later.

David Lloyd fired home a quickfire hat-trick before the break and Butler completed his treble with two in the second half.

Jamie Gale chipped in with a brace, Nicky Taylor with a trademark header and Lloyd rounded off the scoring the with his fourth goal late on.

Trowbridge Wanderers took the lead after only two minutes of their home game against Bar OC/The Crown when Olly Turner capitalised on a defensive error, and lobbed the goalkeeper.

Pete Swales equalised for Bar OC on his debut when his cross from 35 yards looped over the Wanderers keeper and found the top left corner of the net.

Fran Fife hit the crossbar for Bar OC ten minutes for the break, but Dave Melin's own goal handed the visitors the points midway through the second half.
