MANAGER Mark Godley quit over family and work commitments after Weston St Johns consigned Corsham Town to their third league defeat on the trot at The Southbank on Monday.
Weston's dead ball expert Darren Ward was the hosts' tormentor-in-chief, scoring once and laying on the other two. Dave Kilmurray got Corsham off to a flying start, converting Simon Price's centre to give the home side the lead after ten minutes.
Midfielder Andy Wicks and Price both came close to increasing the lead, but Corsham were rocked when Richard Park's deflected header from a Ward corner beat goalkeeper Paul Weeks.
Wicks again threatened the visitors' goal after the break, before Ward sent a dangerous free kick wide of goal with Weeks stranded.
Moments later, Ward won another free kick and teed up Ian Spence to score Weston's second goal.
Corsham rallied and levelled when Frankie Coleman's centre was headed past goalkeeper Steve Bail by ex-Devizes midfielder Nigel Curtis.
Rob Humphries was denied by Bail as Corsham went in search of a winning goal, but it was Ward who claimed maximum points for Weston with a late free kick.
Corsham begin life without Mark Godley with an FA Vase second qualifying round tie at home to Premier Division league leaders Brislington on Saturday.
They also play host to unbeaten local rivals Westbury United on Monday at 7.30pm.
