FANS of actor George Baker enjoyed meeting him at Devizes Books, where he signed copies of his autobiography, The Way to Wexford.
Mr Baker, who is famous for playing Inspector Wexford in the television series, lives in West Lavington, near Devizes.
More than 20 people attended the book signing at the shop in Sidmouth Street, on September 11 and 29 books were sold during the evening.
Mr Baker, who spent time talking to the customers, said he was persuaded to write his autobiography after he gave after dinner talks to raise money for cancer charities.
But he said he found writing the book a tough experience.
He said: "I had to think about my life and it was quite dreadful. I was not only the psychiatrist but also the patient. I wrote every day and it took me nine months to write it."
He said he was pleased with the finished book.
He said: "I wanted to write a book that was truthful. I am pleased to say that all of my five daughters enjoyed the book."
The autobiography is published by Headline, price £18.99.
