The British Heart Foundation in Swindon and Wiltshire is looking for more volunteers to work in its shops.
The Foundation, which has a shop in Havelock Street, Swindon, has recently carried out extensive research across its volunteer network and as a result is currently implementing a new volunteer commitment to make the BHF the First Choice for volunteers.
The new volunteer recruitment campaign is being supported by TV presenter Gloria Hunniford, whose face will be featured on new posters in all 440 BHF Shops the length and breadth of Britain.
Volunteers are instrumental in ensuring the charity's shops continue to raise in excess of £8 million annually to fund heart research, education, life-saving equipment and patient care.
Sally Thornley, one of the area managers for the Wiltshire region, explained: "As well as being worthwhile, volunteering is extremely sociable and offers people a great opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. Additionally, volunteering is something practical you can do to help fight heart disease, which is the UK's single biggest killer."
For further information on volunteering opportunities call into your local BHF Shop or call 0870 120 4141 to be connected to your nearest store.
