BOOTS Hearingcare at the Boots store in the Brunel Centre is offering a new hearing aid.
It is hoped the new gadgets will give many of Wiltshire's estimated 59,000 people who have suffered hearing loss a chance to try helpful technology.
The Songbird disposable digital hearing aid has deterred many because of its high cost sometimes more than £1,500 per ear. But at Boots, the new system requires a full hearing assessment, priced £25, then people will have the opportunity to purchase a 10-week starter pack for £60 per ear. Ongoing supply will then be priced at £26 per ear.
