WORK to install hi-tech communication equipment to provide improved roadside information for motorists using the M4 will start next Monday.
The Highways Agency says motorists will see matrix signs installed and communication cable loops buried in the carriageway, starting at the M25/M4 interchange to mid Junction 6 at Slough and Maid-enhead.
Highways agency area manager John Rylett said: "Vital travel information will be available to help motorists slow down before they come to traffic queueing as a result of high volumes of traffic and incidents on the road.
"This access to information will help to avoid any further incidents and stop motorists from braking at the last moment."
