It looks like the work around Chippenham's Bridge Centre is finished. Love the new digital lights. But what was it all for?
There are more jams coming out of Gladstone Road and chaos at 9am and 5.30pm especially from traffic trying to get over Gladstone Road before the lights go red again.
My simple solution, open the town up at 5.30pm and let traffic through.
I work in town and there is hardly anyone about after 5.30pm except for workers and the odd person going into Woolworth's, these are mostly shop workers just getting the odd drink etc.
Or, open the town one way this might also stop the chaos in the mornings when the lorries decide to unload and completely foul up the road until 9.30am, (why is this allowed to happen in any case?)
Perhaps we could even make the whole town a giant roundabout down Avenue La Fleche and up the High Street.
Surely anything is worth a try rather than the nightmare that is going to happen at Christmas time if something is not sorted out soon.
