A STRONG tradition of success at the Wiltshire Times Job Fair was upheld on Thursday with hundreds of people turning out to find out about new work opportunities in the area.
The event, held annually and now in its sixth year, attracted more than 30 employers.
Wiltshire Times classified advertising manager Lisa Wrintmore, who organised the event, said: "It was very busy with a steady flow of people all day. All of the businesses I spoke to said they were very pleased with the results of the day.
"We had a high calibre of people who came and people came ready for interview and ready for work.
"The agencies were talking to people all day and many people filled in application forms. Everyone seemed really happy with how things went."
A number of firms have been holding interviews with prospective employees this week as a result of the event.
Many firms attended the event for the first time and feedback has been positive from all sides.
For the first time, Warminster-based radio station 3TR FM broadcast live from the event and interviewed representatives from companies attending the day, including Wiltshire Times editor Toby Granville.
Their presence was part of a move to bring fresh ideas to the event and ensure each Job Fair has something new to offer.
The next Wiltshire Times Job Fair will be at the Civic Hall, Trowbridge, on February 27 next year.
Seminars have been planned for the event offering advice for jobseekers.
