I AGREE with the comment of Norman Partridge in his letter of September 13 that the county council is putting profit before people over the relocation of the record office.
At the record office Scrutiny Task Group county council officers outlined their strategy for the relocation of the record office a strategy which seemed dominated more by the opportunities of making money from the Trowbridge site and the Heritage Lottery Fund than it was at providing a record office facility accessible to all. Surely they must realise the Heritage Lottery Fund will see through this scam and that they are endangering the chances of a new heritage centre/record office being built in the only viable location: Trowbridge?
