WHY is our west coast railway line treated as a branch line? When I was younger I travelled a lot by train. We would have a diesel train with rows of carriages and a big window to look out of. It was a great joy then to travel by train.
Today all we get is a two-car unit that is overcrowded and cramped.
I travelled back from Bath recently and I did not like it at all.
We were all packed in so tight it felt like a cattle train.
I was glad to get off at Trowbridge. The train was too over crowded and I felt claustrophobic and sick.
To travel from Bristol to Weymouth is a long journey in a two-car unit. I am sure animals travel better on our railways than people do.
These two-car units are very noisy as you have to sit above the engine which does not help you to enjoy your journey.
I was so glad to hear about a diesel special with rows of carriages travelling from Westbury to Weymouth during the summer.
I say let's have more of these real trains and not these two-car units that are a poor excuse to be called a train.
