A pair of Swindon police officers travelled to New York to take part in the first anniversary remembrance ceremony of the September 11 terrorist atrocity.
Police constables Tim Steed and Mark Sellars joined 340 of their colleagues from around the country for the trip at their own expense.
The British police officers attended two memorials, being present at the service to remember the British victims of the attack where PC Mark Sellars was selected to take part in a guard of honour. The officers also attended the main 9/11 memorial service where the British police, dressed in full uniform, were allowed to stand on Ground Zero.
