THIS is the face of the teenage rapist who attacked a 14-year-old girl in Swindon.

Police are hoping the artist's impression will lead them to the attacker.

He is described as a dark haired local youth, aged about 17, who was wearing a green hooded top and dark coloured baseball cap at the time of the attack. One of his most distinctive features is a piercing in his eyebrow with a silver bar with studs at either end.

He is thought to have carried out the rape in the park area in Crossways Avenue, on the border of Pinehurst and Penhill, after he met the girl at around 8pm on Friday.

Detective Sergeant Mike Rees from Swindon CID said: "Despite the severe trauma this young victim has been through victim has been through, she has been strong enough to give us further details and description of the offender.

"We believe that this artist's impression is a very good likeness to the offender.

"We also believe that he is a smoker. He does have the distinctive eyebrow piercing and if anyone knows someone of this appearance or who may have tried to change their appearance or remove their eyebrow piercing since last Friday, please contact us.

"We remain confident that the offender is a local male and I would appeal to the local community to come forward and assist us in identifying him. Any calls will be treated in the strictest confidence. This matter has received a great deal of local and national publicity and this suspect must be well aware that we are looking for him. I would appeal for him to come forward."
