Chippenham have made changes to their first team for Swanage and Wareham in the South West Division 2 league. Stewart Ridsdel, Grant Trewartha, James Barnard are unavailable.

Having rattled up nearly 400 points this season, the club is feeling optimistic and manager of rugby Jerry Field is pleased.

He said: "I'm impressed with the way the 1st XV have welded together, especially with several new players. To beat a side like Amersham and Chiltern by 48 points and conceding none has got to be a good omen.

"The new coaching team has contributed to the success and the players feel a part of the overall set-up.

"We are also beginning to reap the benefit from the development of our own players through the club's junior teams and the development squad."

Several young players have returned to Chippenham after studies and Field says that they are making their presesnce felt in all teams.
