AN OPTICIAN is helping a Swindon church to see through its refurbishment programme.
The charitable trust of Haine and Smith bought a baby change unit for St John's Church in Winterbourne Avenue.
The unit will be housed in the church's new disabled toilet.
The Reverend Rob Burles said: "The congregation at St John's is very pleased that we are able to offer the community the kind of environment and facilities that are taken for granted in other venues, but not often found in churches."
Haine and Smith have three practices in Swindon at Cavendish Square, Gorse Hill and Regent Street, as well as branches all around Wiltshire.
Anyone wishing to apply to the trust for a donation should write to Janet Hartwell, clerk to the Trustees, at Haine and Smith Opticians, 138a High Street, Marlborough, SN8 1HN.
