n How long have you owned your car?
About two years.
Why did you buy it?
Second childhood I suppose. I've never owned a sports car and wanted to have some fun. And being Scottish and practical, I needed something that had enough room for cases of wine and, if I ever have the time, golf bags. The Boxter has far more storage than most sports cars.
What do you like best about the car?
It is well built, looks great, handles superbly and makes me feel good. The down side for Mrs C is that every time I drive off in it, she sees what should have been her upgraded bathroom!
Does it have a name?
Oh yes, it's Daddy's Car. Having four sons, if they are good, they get to go shopping or gets picked up in Daddy's Car from school in front of his friends, which doesn't do their image any harm at all.
What does Daddy's Car tell us about you?
I suppose that I'm young at heart, even if I don't look it.
What do you listen to in the car?
Music from my youth, ranging from Deep Purple, Mud and good foot stompin' blues music.
When you clean the car out what sort of things do you find?
Dog hairs from my Labrador named Otter who I occasionally take out when I go cross-country running.
Any accidents?
No.
Parking tickets?
No
How often do you wash the car?
Most weekends.
What would your dream car be?
Exactly the same but with a bigger engine.
Which celebrity would like to give a ride to in your car?
Comedian Eddie Izzard. I'm sure he'd keep me laughing on what might otherwise be a boring journey.
