COOPER-AVON were well beaten in their opening Dorset and Wilts Division One game.
Weymouth scored two tries in the first five minutes and added a converted try on 15 minutes to lead 17-0. Cooper-Avon then enjoyed a brief period of pressure which saw Russell Holland score his side's only try.
Matt Trueman added two penalties to reduce the arrears but another converted try from Weymouth saw them lead at half-time 24-11. The second-half started even worse for the visitors as the hosts scored from the kick off. They added two more tries to run out easy winners.
