Melksham Town, who received an FA Vase bye after their exploits last
season, were in fruitless Screwfix Direct League action.
Robbie Lardner's team were narrowly beaten 1-0 by reigning Premier Division champions Bideford.
Lardner's spoiling tactics had worked a treat and Melksham looked set to end Bideford's 100 per cent start to the season.
But a late lapse in concentration allowed Robert Gough to head the hosts' winner just six minutes from time.
