COULD someone give me a plain English answer to the question of why LEAs receive different amounts of funding.
Swindon needs a skilled workforce for the future, but will that be possible if our children are not receiving the best education?
I was brought up in Surrey and went to a school that would never have passed an Ofsted. We were crammed into classes of 40-plus and children with learning difficulties were put at the back and left to their own devices.
This usually meant they were able to disrupt the whole class not their fault, just the system.
We didn't have support staff then either, putting teachers under more stress. These cuts are making me wonder if a return to the bad old days is just around the corner.
