The Queen has been invited to open Swindon's multi- million pound Great Western Hospital.
Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust chairman Nicholas Godden revealed the news at the trust's annual meeting. However, Mr Godden added that it was too early to say whether the Queen would be able to conduct the official opening, which is scheduled for early spring next year.
The first patients are due to move into the £138m hospital at Commonhead on December 2.
