WORLD War Two veterans have presented airmen at RAF Lyneham with three unique wooden shields.
The shields were presented in gratitude for the flypasts which have been provided by planes from Lyneham during annual memorial ceremonies at RAF Down Ampney.
During the war RAF Down Ampney was the home to squadrons of DC3 Dakotas which took part in the famous Operation Market Garden mission to Arnhem.
n Pictured in front of the De Havilland Comet at RAF Lyneham are Wing Commanders John Reid, Rick Hobson and Ian Shields.
Presenting the plaques are former flight mechanics Alan Hartley and Bert Tipping.
