Powerlifting LEGENDARY powerlifting champion Bill West is coming out of retirement this weekend to compete at the UK Championships.
But West, now aged 56, is not simply heading to South Wales for the contest looking to make up the numbers.
The 12-times world champion-turned coach, says he is looking to smash half-a-dozen records at the event which is also classed as an official Wales v England international.
West has kept himself in tip-top condition since he announced his retirement in 2000.
He subsequently coached Lee Steggles and Phil Randall to world championship winning performances in South Africa last year but as his colleagues prepared themselves for this year's European Championships, West's competitive edge returned.
