GLENN Armstrong struck a stunning late leveller to ruin Bitton's 100 per cent record and stretch Calne's unbeaten run to three matches at Bremhill View on Tuesday night.
The former Wroughton hitman's first goal for the club completed a rousing recovery from the hosts, who found themselves two goals down inside the first 18 minutes.
Mike Branch grabbed both goals for the visitors, but the home side reduced the deficit when Martin Wheeler scored from 25 yards on the half hour.
Midfielder Adam Cole missed glorious chance to restore Bitton's two-goal lead after the break and Calne poured forward in the final 15 minutes in search of an equaliser.
It came on 88 minutes when Armstrong picked up Matt Peters' pass and sent a swerving drive into the top corner of Simon Crawford's net from fully 35-yards.
Joint manager Kelvin Highmore said: "You wouldn't have thought the side had played together looking at their performance in the first 20 minutes. Defensively we weren't together at all. But the character and fitness levels we showed to come back really pleased me.
"It was a night when nothing went right for Glenn Armstrong, but he kept his head up and opened his account for the club with the best goal I've seen in a long time."
Calne entertain Street on Saturday and travel to Bristol Manor Farm on Wednesday night, kick off 7.45pm.
