HELLENIC LEAGUE: PEWSEY Vale's miserable week continued on Tuesday night as Yate Town racked up their sixth straight Premier Division win at Lodge Road.

Don Rogers' men, who now have conceded 13 goals in their last two outings, went into the clash without key quartet Craig Wall, Nathan Holt, Martin Churchward and Sean Terry.

And they paid a heavy price as first half goals from Coles and Paul Metheringham put the visitors in charge at the break.

Lee Barlass' 68th minute goal and a strike five minutes from time by Simpson completed the rout.

Barry Flippance and Paul Day were both guilty of missing gilt edged chances for the visitors.

Manager Rogers had few complaints after seeing his side suffer their second heavy defeat in four days.

He said: "The goals we are giving away are ridiculous at the moment. Everything we touch in the penalty area goes to the other side.

"We were rather depleted and miss martin Churchward at the back, but it is 11 against 11 and I don't like to use excuses like that."

Pewsey will be looking to return to winning ways when they visit Cirencester United in the Cherry Red Records Cup on Saturday. They also play host to top of the table North Leigh on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division on Tuesday, Wootton Bassett went down 4-0 at home to Abingdon and Highworth drew 0-0 with Carterton.

Purton were not at their best but still managed a 3-1 win over Easington Sports.

Richard Watkins scored twice and Ryan Whitefield scored the third.

Eight minutes from time Robbie Cannoway scored Easington's consolation.

Shrivenham left it late against Cheltenham Saras, scoring the only goal of the game on 89 minutes, with a strike from Herring.
