Screwfix Division One: Chippenham Town assistant boss Colin Bush has turned down the chance to take over the managerial reins at Screwfix Direct First Division neighbours Corsham Town.
Bush, a former Corsham player, was approached by chairman Colin Hudd last week following the surprise resignation of Mark Godley.
But Tommy Saunders' sidekick is on the crest of a wave with the Bluebirds and intends to stay at Hardenhuish Park for the foreseeable future.
Said Bush: "Colin and I have been big mates for a long, long time and he offered me the job. I was very flattered to be asked.
"I dealt with it properly and took 24 hours to think about it, but decided that it wasn't the job for me at this present time.
"Chippenham have progressed so far and Thomas and myself have been very much a part of that. The level of football we are at now is very much something I want to stay with. It is the place to be at the moment."
Bush also turned down the chance to manage both Westbury United and Calne Town, but refused to rule out a move into management one day.
He said: "When the time is right, maybe I will move. But at this moment in time I am firmly committed to continuing the rise of Chippenham Town."
Wiltshire U18s chief Mel Gingell has also ruled himself out of the running.
Corsham chairman Hudd has spoken to a number of candidates and expects to name Godley's successor next week.
He said: "We've had a few people interested in the job and have contacted others ourselves. I'm awaiting replies and responses and am very optimistic."
Caretaker managers Dave King and John Freegard were again in charge as Corsham drew 2-2 with unbeaten Westbury United on Monday night.
Steve Perkins gave the visitors an interval lead, but Corsham hit back with two Simon Price goals. Toby Colbourne equalised with a late penalty.
