FC CHIPPENHAM played Warminster Highbury in what on paper was their toughest test of the season so far.
Chippenham were up for the challenge and produced by far their best performance of the season. Using the full width of the pitch they played the ball around confidently and were rewarded in the first half with a fine strike from close range by Jamie Penton and a long-range effort from Thomas Taylor.
Despite seeing very little action Kent Kauppinen made a fine save just ahead of the half time whistle to keep the score at 2-0 and avoid giving the opposition any momentum.
The second half continued very much in the same vein despite kicking up hill and with the midfield and defence giving them little opportunity to get into any rhythm, Chippenham were able to keep a close grip on the game.
Their efforts were consolidated with a 25 yard swerving effort from Luke Webb as he for once found the energy to get past the half way line and with the time running out Daniel Webb cut in from the left to hit a stunning shot over the goalkeeper to seal Chippenham's victory at 4-0.
