A GREAT great grandmother has celebrated her ninetieth birthday by going for a spin on a Harley Davison motorbike.
Doreen Maslen was born in Bradford on Avon and lived most of her life in Devizes, but emigrated to Victoria, Australia 20 years ago to be nearer her two daughters.
She and her late husband were keen bikers, and spent many days together on his Royal Enfield.
But Mrs Maslen had always said she would like to feel the wind in her hair aboard a Harley.
It was a total surprise when her great granddaughter Tracey organised the ride for her birthday.
The owner of a motorbike shop in Warragul, Victoria collected Mrs Maslen and took her for a gentle ride into the countryside, closely followed by the family photographers, great grandchildren Shane and Caitlyn.
Mrs Maslen's cousin Joyce Dufall, who still lives in Devizes, said; "Doreen was delighted with her present, which came as a total surprise to her.
"She had no idea what Tracey was planning until the bike showed up at her daughter Shirley's home, where she was staying.
"I was amazed when I heard because she is not in the best of health and broke her hip falling off a bike not that long ago, but she was delighted about it."
