TWO Devizes doctors have completed a 300-mile bike ride from Padstow, Cornwall, to Devizes to raise money for Green Lane Hospital.
Dr Simon Philips, a retired Devizes GP, and Dr David Stevens, who works at Green Lane, have raised almost £3,500. They hope to use the money to provide a new children's play area for the hospital.
Michael Stokes, chairman of the League of Friends, said: "This is a terrific achievement by these two doctors.
"It has taken them over a week and, blisters permitting, we hope to see them back at the hospital on Saturday.
"At the moment there is nowhere for children to go and play outside the hospital, so we are hoping to raise enough to make a play area with some netball hoops."
The League of Friends hopes to begin building the play area early next spring.
