Following last week's fine win over local rivals Swindon Spitfires, Wootton Bassett Ladies travelled to South Wiltshire to face Porton.
And the Bassett Ladies claimed another victory, winning 4-2, but not before Porton gave the Swindon side a real scare.
Bassett were entirely dominant and raced into a three-goal lead thanks to early goals from Catherine Reid, Jan Reynolds and Susan Shaw.
Porton pulled a goal back with a rare attack just before the break, yet Bassett still looked in control.
But Porton struck again in the second half to ensure a nervy ending.
Fortunately, Bassett regained their composure and a period of sustained pressure culminated in a decisive fourth goal just two minutes from time.
n Wootton Bassett's under 16 girls team continued their impressive start to the season with an excellent 6-2 win over a very strong Yate Town side.
The game was well contested throughout, with flowing football leading to plenty of chances at each end.
But the cliniical finishing of the Bassett forwards proved decisive.
Hot shots Natasha Burson, Rebecca Poole and Catherine Reid all helped themselves to goals in a fine victory.
