THE parent/teacher association at St John's School and Community College in Marlborough could fold unless new volunteers step forward.
The St John's Association, which has raised money for the school and supported pupils' education for many years, will disband if not enough people attend its annual meeting at the school's Savernake building dining hall on Monday October 14 at 8pm.
Committee member Judy Little said: "There are over 1,000 children at this school and only six people regularly turn up to help arrange events for the association. We cannot carry on like this. Unless we get more people coming forward to help, we will have no alternative but to call it a day."
The association raises hundreds of pounds with its annual Christmas raffle at the school and an annual quiz night. Mrs Little added: "We have tried other things barn dances, a treasure hunt and we have struggled to break even.
"With some new blood on the committee we could really achieve things and support the work of the teachers who do such good work."
