BLUNSDON House Hotel is refunding all ticket holders who attended a disappointing Tom Jones tribute night.
The event offered an un-welcome surprise when Tom Jones double Phil Steed failed to turn up last Friday.
Linda Everard and Rita Hammond were among the 120 guests who paid £32 to see the Tom Jones double.
Linda, 51, from, Cheney Manor, said: "It is great news we are getting our money back. We will use it to save up for seeing the legend him-self."
And Colin Thompson, 56, from Covingham, who attended the party with his wife, Diana, was equally thrilled.
He said: "We enjoyed a fabulous four-course meal. It was a shame the star of the show failed to make it, but a full refund is more than fair compensation."
Revellers had to console themselves with a Classic Gold disco, DJ Gary Watts of Mirage Entertainments.
It seems that Mr Steed was not caught in traffic, as initially claimed, but ill.
Philip Dodds, business development manager at Blunsdon House Hotel, said: "The hotel was happy to offer a full refund and will con-tinue to host regular tribute nights."
"They are normally hugely successful," he said. "Madonna and The Bee Gees are coming soon."
