On my return to Malmesbury I was amazed to find Corn Gastons has now been made the main thoroughfare for vehicles to the new Malmesbury school.
Do planners live in the real world? The decision to make this roadway a main highway is ludicrous.
At the end nearest the school entrance there is no off-road parking for residents and the amount of space for buses to get through is minimal.
There is also the question of emergency vehicles which may need to gain access.
Several years ago I asked North Wiltshire District Council to consider doing away with the grass verges to make parking spaces for residents.
Will they now reconsider and give the residents at numbers 1-16 the same facilities as the rest of Corn Gastons or will we have to wait until we have a casualty?
