FORMER Avon Rubber worker Dorothy Butler has celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at Trowbridge Oaks nursing and residential home.
A bouquet from her former employers and a card from the Queen helped mark the milestone.
Her son Fred Butler said: "We had to cancel the party we had planned due to sickness but we were still able to celebrate.
"Some friends she hadn't seen for years turned up and we had a small party."
Mrs Butler originated from Box and spent her early working life in service as a parlour maid.
After marrying her husband, Percy, she moved to Melksham, where she lived until she became a resident at Trowbridge Oaks in August 2000.
She worked part time at the Avon India Rubber Company in Melksham for 22 years and received a bouquet from the firm's pensions department for her birthday.
Mrs Butler's main interests in the past were gardening and old time and sequence dancing and she was an active member of Melksham British Legion.
