WEST WILTSHIRE MP Dr Andrew Murrison says he is keen to visit as many local businesses and services as possible before returning to parliament next month.
On Wednesday he visited schools, hospitals and local interest groups.
Starting at Trowbridge Job Centre where he met manager Jackie Calloway, Dr Murrison saw what services and initiatives are available.
He spent lunchtime at Holt Lunch Club in the village Hall, where members who may not otherwise have the opportunity to see Dr Murrison had the chance to address him.
Dr Murrison then visited Trowbridge Fire Station, meeting the chief fire officer, Neil Wright, and viewing a drill demonstration.
A visit to the Airsprung Beds factory in Canal Road, Trowbridge, during the afternoon, gave him the opportunity to learn about the company's manufacturing operation.
The final stop was a visit to Warminster to meet a local Tenants Association, which is currently in dispute with its housing society.
A busy week in the community ends today when Dr Murrison will help to deliver meals on wheels in Trowbridge with volunteer Vicky Coates.
It will be an historic day for the WRVS in Trowbridge, which is to relocate its operation to Church Street on Monday, where it will be able to deliver its service better.
Dr Murrison also visited South Wiltshire Primary Care on Monday.
He was particularly interested to hear about the impact that delayed discharges at Salisbury District Hospital and the Royal United Hospital, Bath, are having on waiting times, and the plan to remove barriers between health and social care.
