A COLOURFUL mosaic has been unveiled at a Warminster school to commemorate the life of a community stalwart who died last year.
Sheila Toomey worked in St George's School for 20 years, as supply teacher, governor and voluntary helper.
The mosaic was the idea of former deputy head Trisha Antolik and its design is based on the logo used by the Friends of the School.
It was designed by Trevor Wringe and depicts St George slaying the dragon.
Every child at the school contributed at least one of the 3,000 Italian glass tiles for the mosaic, which took two weeks to make.
Mrs Toomey died at the Royal United Hospital in Bath last October. She was the brain and motivation behind countless campaigns, groups and events. She helped organise the West Wilts Show, was chairman of Warminster District Tourism Association and was a eucharistic minister at St George's Church.
