On September 17, the residents of Hawthorn Road in Chippenham were flyered anonymously informing us of Westlea Housing Association's plans to buy two houses on our road.
The leaflet urges residents to write to the district council 'to oppose the development' and make our views known.
I will certainly be writing to the District council to let my views known, I will be writing to support the acquisitions.
Those who have written and distributed this leaflet under cowardly anonymity lack any kind of judgement.
The smear that they are trying to make is that residents that have bought their property are some how more worthy of living in our road than those that cannot afford to do so.
They are trying to imply that housing association residents are second class citizens, and are pre-judging people who they have never met.
I, amongst others, will welcome the new residents of Hawthorn Road with open arms.
Rodney Fernandes,
Hawthorn Road,
Chippenham.
