CONCERN about the ground levels of a new housing development at the old football ground in Trowbridge have led to a site inspection.
Complaints from residents caused West Wiltshire District Council to send officers to the site on County Way.
Officers checked whether developer Wilson Connolly had stuck to the approved site plans.
Cllr Jeff Osborn, development portfolio holder at the council, said: "We have received numerous inquiries from people about the level of the ground works at the site.
"We sent an officer out and they were not to plan so it is being rectified. We want to reassure residents that the matter has been looked at."
Work began earlier in the month and the site will have more than 118 homes.
Cllr Osborn said Wilson Connolly had been informed and the work was being carried out.
The land was previously owned by Swan Hill but was sold to Wilson Connolly this year.
Swan Hill applied for permission to develop the site last year but district councillors refused to give permission in May saying the developer needed to add more open space and give a contribution to education facilities.
