CURATE Michael Brown is leaving his post at St James's Parish Church in Trowbridge.
The Rev Brown is to be licenced as the senior assistant priest in the Bruton and District Benefice of the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
Mr Brown said: "I have made many friends in Trowbridge, both inside and outside of the church, and in so doing, I have also taken on some interests that have been a great encouragement to me, in my ministry and my time here."
During his time in Trowbridge Mr Brown became chaplain to the Trowbridge Sea Cadet Unit, Bath and district branch vice chairman of the Royal Society of St George and honorary chaplain to the Bath White Ensign Association.
His last day at St James's will be the harvest festival on September 29.
