CHILDREN at Margaret Stancomb School in Trowbridge have been trying out new play equipment funded by a £5,000 lottery grant.
The infant school has 130 pupils who have been raring to have a go and the area has even caught the eye of the youngsters in the school's 52-place nursery.
Headteacher Ann Jillians said: "The play equipment cost £6,600 and the parent association has helped with the rest of the money.
"We have a long trail, right down the middle of the play area, with swinging logs, balancing logs, a rickety rackety bridge and stepping stones. It is all on a blue safety surface which looks really attractive."
The new play activities have been designed to give the children a challenge to help their development but also something they can enjoy.
Mrs Jillians said: "It is quite challenging, it is not easy. They need a challenge really and even the little ones want a go.
"It has definitely been an improvement to playtimes and lunchtimes. They are all enjoying it."
