GOALKEEPING coach Ian Diamond has vowed to lose weight and raise money for a good cause in the process.
Mr Diamond, 54, weighed in at 18 and a half stone when he took to the scales at Trowbridge Hospital on Thursday and hopes to lose about 2st by February.
Sponsorship money will be donated to the CT scanner appeal, which aims to buy a scanner for the area covered by west Wiltshire hospitals.
Mr Diamond, who works behind a computer all day at Nestl, said: "I am going to cut down on the foods I eat and alcohol and do a whole lot more exercise.
"I am now cycling to work every day and running and walking with the dog. I hope to lose a minimum of 2st in five and a half months.
"The incentive is there if you are doing it for a good cause. My wife is all for it and my two daughters, and I've had a lot of support."
Mr Diamond, from Westwood, is the goalkeeping coach for Trowbridge Town. A collection at the club's last match raised nearly £300.
