SPECSAVERS OPTICIANS in Swindon has been nominated for Contact Lens Practice of the Year in the Excellence in Eyecare Awards 2002.
The store, in Havelock Square, has already beaten off competition throughout the South Central region and will be up against other Specsavers stores from across the UK, the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
The awards are to recognise achievement in each of the key areas of optical and retailing practice in six categories in which all 430 of Specsavers' UK stores were given the opportunity to enter or be nominated .
David Grieves, director of Specsavers in Swindon, said: "We will be up against 14 other practices for the title, so competition will be tough.
"All the staff have worked really hard this year.It will be interesting to see how this is reflected in the results which will be announced in November."
