FORMER television chat show host Vanessa Feltz gave Swindon's Macmillan Coffee Morning a touch of celebrity gloss.
The national event, which saw hundreds of coffee mornings held all over the country, was hosted for the fifth year at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village.
And volunteers were hoping to top last year's £600 total.
Vanessa said: "I am delighted to be here to show my support for the Macmillan Coffee Morning. It is a wonderful cause.
"My mother Valerie died seven years ago and during the last two years of her life we had the help and support of a Macmillan nurse.
"The help they provide is invaluable at a time when families and relatives are at their most vulnerable."
Chairwoman of the Swindon branch of Macmillan, Gillian Thornton, said: "All the proceeds of this will go towards training nurses in the skills needed to become a Macmillan nurse. We are very grateful for the support that has been shown by everyone attending today."
Macmillan Cancer Relief is a national charity working to improve the treatment and care of people with cancer and their families.
