FORMER Melksham Town boss Darren Perrin has turned down the chance to become the new manager of Screwfix Division One side Corsham Town.

Ex-Conigre chief Perrin held talks with Corsham chairman Colin Hudd earlier this week and looked set to take over the Southbank Ground brief left by Mark Godley, who resigned earlier this month because of work and family commitments.

However, Perrin felt unable to juggle the role with his responsibilities as youth development officer at Conference side Forest Green Rovers, leaving Corsham still searching for Godley's successor.

Hudd said: "Darren felt he couldn't do the two jobs so we're still looking.

"It's disappointing, but there are a couple of other people we're looking at and we want to make sure we get the right person.''

Veteran striker John Freegard and coach Dave King will lead the side into today's game against Wellington.

SWINDON Town Ladies are away to Chesham United in the South West Combination League tomorrow.

Town's reserves host Porton in the Wiltshire County League, the match kicking off at 2pm at Aldbourne FC.
