SUPERMARINE celebrated their new sponsorship deal with Zimmer by disposing of Dorset & Wilts Two North rivals Pewsey 23-5 to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.

It was, however, a slow start from the home side and, for the first 20 minutes, the game was pretty even.

The visitors forwards managed to keep hold of the ball for long periods of the game, which made it difficult for the home side to break them down.

Eventually though, Marine gathered quick ball and found the overlap they had been yearning for.

Sheppy fed Graham McIntosh, who scored his second try in two starts.

Soon after, another two-man overlap made by full-back and man of the match MartinWhite allowed Jim Bristow a straightforward run inunopposed to earn the home side a 10-0 lead.

The second half was again a dull affair, before the substitution of Jamie Barrett for Andy Darrell boosted the pack.

A penalty in front of the posts which Tim Gallimore converted stretched their lead and led to further replacements, Neil Jones moving to scrum half with John Clarke coming off.

The forwards were dominant and, at last, the backs were given the freedom to overpower their visitors.

Quick ball was fed out for Mark Sheppard, to add another try.

Then a couple of minutes later, fine lineout work from Mark Hoskins against the throw released the backs and Sheppard powered his way over the line to make it 23-0.

Pewsey hit back and were rewarded with a try from a 10-yard penalty move.

Supermarine Blades were beaten 47-17 by Aldbourne.

Supermarine play at R.M.C.S. Shrivenham on Wednesday evening.

All players who wish to play or any new players, meet at the clubhouse at 6pm.
