SWINDON were well beaten 28-7 after a long Southern Counties North trip to Olney.
Olney opened their account early with a brace of penalties for a 6-0 lead.
But Swindon rallied themselves and hit back quickly.
Quick ball from the forwards was spun out and centre Paul Wakefield burst through the home defence and neatly rounded the full back to score a fine try under the posts. James Thorley converted.
The play then swung from end to end with Olney advancing through their powerful forwards and constantly threatening the Swindon line.
Meanwhile, Swindon's midfield trio of Thorley, Wakefield and Turney making a number of breaks which they were unable to turn into points.
Eventually the deadlock was broken as Olney were awarded a penalty and opted to kick to touch.
From the resulting line out, the home side drove over for an unconverted score, giving them an 11-7 lead at the break.
After the interval, Olney used their powerful forwards to good effect, constantly driving the ball deep into Swindon's territory.
The defence held firm for the first 10 minutes of the half, but despite the defensive heroics of flanker Paul Daniels, Olney broke through.
Swindon tried to hit back with Wakefield and skipper Stuart Cock making good half-breaks, but again they were unable to turn them into points.
Olney continued to pile the pressure on and added two further tries for a comfortable win.
