Cirencester Town stopped the rot to gain three valuable points against Rugby United.
After conceding 14 goals in three outings, Brian Hughes' charges finally managed to stamp out the defensive lapses with a solid 2-0 win.
A superb Andy McCabe double proved the difference between the two sides.
Cirencester dominated for long periods, but had nothing to show at the break, as Gareth Hopkins and Adam Mayo were both denied by Rugby keeper Jason Pearcey.
McCabe also shot wide and hit the woodwork before Pearcey again saved well from Dave Gee.
Pearcey was eventually beaten eight minutes after the interval when Keith Knight's pinpoint cross found McCabe who made no mistake from close range.
The visitors responded with their best spell of the match, but some well-timed tackles from Stuart Hopkins ensured another defensive fiasco was not on the Ciren agenda.
Cirencester settled once more and with Knight continuing to supply McCabe and Gareth Hopkins with plenty of ammunition, a second goal was inevitable.
It was McCabe who eventually sealed the win.
Knight's through ball sent the striker clear, and after holding off a challenge, McCabe unleashed a fine strike from 15 yards.
Cirencester: Glassup, Radcliffe, Fraser, Mayo, S Hopkins, Smith, Knight, Hughes, G Hopkins, McCabe, Gee. Subs: Clarke, Dale, Hayward.

Cirencester will travel to Mangotsfield for the first round of the Gloucestershire Senior Cup.
